The tool steel is custom made for us in extra length and extra flute length so that makes for less changing of steel longer use period and great return on investment, fully worth the slightly higher price tag. CPM10V steel also known as A11 is the best steel available today for the woodturning application.
Steel is available in 6 sizes now 3/8”, 1/2”, 5/8”, ¾”, 1” and 1 ¼” all cut from solid CPM10V bar stock and triple tempered to Rockwell 62 and cryogenically toughened between both first and second heat treatments, also known as A-11 steel.
